After a scary visit with her eye doctor, Gretchen Rubin, bestselling author of THE HAPPINESS PROJECT, had a radical epiphany. In her quest for joy, had she neglected the importance of her senses?
I totally agree with the need to use all of our senses to experience the small things that can expand our day! I love hearing the birds in the morning. And I went to see a friend and again heard the birds in the morning but the sounds were so different because these were different birds than at home. So familiar but different - and interesting. The more we tune in to the small things around us all, the more connected we are with ourselves and with what (and who) is around us.
I'd probably be much more enthusiastic about touch if I currently had a significant other, or even a lover of convenience. In fact, I'd probably be more enthusiastic about ALL the senses if that were the case. But it's been a few years.
